There are good restaurants and an excellent food market with meat and fish at very low prices and also major supermarkets as well as the renown Fethiye Tuesday Market. Fethiye is steeped in history and you can see Lycian Tombs cut out of the mountainside above a Roman amphitheatre.
Calis Beach is a 20 minute drive from the self-catering holiday villa with a long shingle beach, many bars, restaurants, a go-kart track and a water park. Olu Deniz, Hisaronu for a lively bar/club scene, and Kaya Koy ghost village are all just a short distance from Fethiye.
