Apartments to rent in Dublin - Holiday homes & flats to rent

ApartmentsDirect.ie offers you a choice of apartments to rent in Dublin directly from the owners. Whether you require a holiday flat, an open plan studio apartment for one person or a couple, or for larger holiday groups, we offer 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments to rent in Dublin. Probably the biggest advantage of renting apartments in Dublin from the property owners listed with us is that you do not pay any agents commission fees. There are many other advantages but the fact that you pay a much lower rental price when you rent directly from the apartment or flat owner is a huge advantage. Agents fees can add anywhere between 30% to 50% onto the original property owners rental rate so it really does not make any sense for you not to rent a Dublin apartment directly from the property owner.

A lot of people are under the impression you can only rent apartments and flats in Dublin for a minimum holiday letting period of one week. This is not true at all. In fact, almost all Dublin apartment and flat owners let their properties out for a minimum of two nights and will give you a discount based on the number of nights you rent their property for. Obviously the more nights you rent the apartment or flat for, the better the discount. 2 nights is the standard minimum holiday letting duration because anything less simply would not be cost effective to the property owner because of the cleaning and laundry costs involved in holiday letting. Before an apartment, flat, house or any property can be let out, it must be prepared properly for a holiday let. This preparation include the property being thoroughly cleaned from top to bottom, with fresh clean towels and bed linen for all guests.

The property must also be sufficiently equipped for a self catering holiday let with modern working appliances such as a four ring cooker with oven, washing machine, fridge with freezer, microwave oven, kettle, iron and ironing board, all kitchen utensils and crockery to cater for all guests. These are just some of the items a self catering holiday apartment, flat, house or any property being let on a holiday letting basis should have.

So how much cheaper are apartments to rent in Dublin compared to Dublin hotels & Dublin airport hotels?
2 to 3 star Dublin hotels and Dublin airport hotels can charge somewhere in the region of €129.00 per night for a single room and approximately €199.00 per night for a double room. Please also bear in mind that these rates may also increase for weekend breaks in Dublin. Hotels, including airport hotels, also tend to substantially increase their rates if there is a special event on in Dublin such as a pop concert or if the city or airport hotel has a small number of rooms left. I personally hate this practice and would encourage people not to pay such extortionate prices to stay in a Dublin city or airport hotel room, which after all, provides no self catering facilities other than tea and coffee making facilities.

Now lets look at the average cost for flats or apartments to rent in Dublin on a weekly holiday let and short term nightly rental basis. You can rent a 3 to 4 star standard one bedroom self catering apartment or flat, which would comfortably accommodate three to four adults, for approximately €75.00 per night for a weekend two night break. If you were to rent the apartment or flat for a fully week the savings are even greater. You could quite easily rent a flat or an apartment in Dublin for approximately €495.00 for a weeks stay. This rental rate would include your towels, linen, full self catering facilities, electricity and heating. As you can see, the cost of flats and apartments to rent in Dublin is far cheaper than staying in Dublin hotels or Dublin airport hotels.

Some people prefer to stay in Dublin hotels and Dublin airport hotels rather than renting apartments or flats in Dublin. Self catering stays are not everyone's choice but if you prefer self catering breaks in Dublin to staying in Dublin hotels then not only will you have a lot more living space than Dublin airport hotels, but you will also make huge savings on the cost of your short term self catering break when you choose the apartments to rent in Dublin option.
