This comfortable Fully furnished first floor apartment is available at a very good price. It's situated in an excellent location just a 5 minute walk from Lagos Marina, with its sophisticated Bars, restaurants and cafes and the adjacent fishing harbour with its simple seafood eateries. Over the river lies the quaint, historic town centre (15 minute walk from the apartment) with plenty of boutiques and sites of interest within the maze of cobbled streets. The beautiful Meia Praia beach, that stretches for several kms along the Coast, is also only a 15 minute walk from the apartment. Surrounding the town lie Many more glorious Coves. For golfers, Palmares and Boavista courses are just a few minutes drive away. The property is spacious and well furnished and comprises 1 double bedroom (with space for a cot), a new bathroom, a Fullyfitted kitchen with a small balcony that has a spiral staircase leading to the roof terrace with sea views and plenty of space for sun bathing, plus a large lounge/dining room with patio doors opening on to a covered terrace, ideal for alfresco dining!

Amenities in the near vicinity include the large 'Pingo Doce' supermarket just 800 metres away. The nearest cafe and restaurant (cheap and cheerful) is just 600 metres and there's a minimarket just around the corner. There are also some lovely country walks near by. Lagos Marina is 850m away. There is live music at the Marina most weekends. From the Marina you can book fantastic activities such as sailing trips, trips to See the grottoes, dolphin watching trips, scuba diving, deep sea fishing, etc. The town centre is very cosmopolitan with a huge choice of restaurants and Many lively Bars and outdoor cafes. A calendar of live entertainment goes on throughout the summer months. The historic sites in the town include the old slave market (now an art gallery), the 'golden chapel' of St. Anthony and the fort next to the Old Town walls guarding The Entrance to the river. There is a traditional fruit and veg market every Saturday morning just across the river from the Marina and the fish market in the town centre is open 6 mornings per week. There is also a large gypsy market held on the first Saturday morning of each month, near to Pingo Doce supermarket. A little further afield, but within a 30 minute drive, the Western Algarve offers the autodrome racing circuit, the stunning pretty Monchique mountains with fantastic views from the highest point at Foia (903 metres) and the spa Village of Caldas da Monchique, the excellent Slide and Splash water park, Lagos zoo, wine tasting, horse riding, walking, cycling, bird watching, golf and the unspoilt beauty of the Costa Vincentina Natural Park. There really is something for everyone!

The nearest airport is at Faro, 75kms away (1 hours drive). Car hire is not essential for this property, though it's worthwhile if you want to See more of the beautiful Algarve. Trains run from Faro centre to Lagos. You will have to catch a bus or a taxi from the airport to the train station. It is then approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes to get to Lagos. The apartment is less than a 10 minute walk from Lagos train station (I can pick you up). Alternatively there are companies operating bus and minibus transfer services (please contact me for more details).

Local Activities: Meia Praia, which is a long expanse of beautiful sandy beach, with several restaurants, is 1km away and an easy 1520 minute walk. Lagos town lies at one end of this beach and a picturesque lagoon lies at the other end. Great for long walks! More than half a dozen coves surround Lagos and the peninsula offers some great coastal tracks. You can also go snorkling, surfing, canoeing or discover the area by boat. Or I can help you organise horseriding, cycling or quadbiking in the area.

(Note: apartment rates are based on 2 people sharing, so there is a charge of €40 per person per week for use of the sofa bed). There is also a safe, a fan and a iron/ironing board in the bedroom.

Bathrooms: 1 The new bathroom has a full bath with overhead shower, plus a toilet, sink and bidet. Towels are supplied (except beach towels) and changed twice weekly. There is also a hair dryer.
Kitchen Facilities: •Washing Machine
Kitchen Description: The kitchen is equipped with an oven and hob, extractor fan, fridge/freezer, washing machine and microwave. Off the kitchen is a small balcony that has a spiral staircase leading to the roof terrace that has sea views and plenty of space for sunbathing. The terrace is not suitable for unsupervised children due to the narrow staircase and low walls.
Dining Room Facilities:
Dining Room Description: There is a large dining table inside, but also another large table outside on the covered, private varanda which is perfect for eating outdoors morning, noon and evening. The varanda is equipped with a barbecue and utensils.
Living Room Facilities:
Living Room Description: The living room has 2 sets of patio doors making it bright and airy, opening on to the balcony to the front and the covered varanda to the side. There is a fireplace and logs can be arranged for a small extra cost for anyone visiting during the cooler months. Heaters can also be provided.The apartment is equipped with cable tv, satellite tv (free channels only), DVD player and a stereo / CD player.

  Payment & Booking Terms  
The rates quoted are based on an occupancy of 2, additional guests are charged at €40 per person per week. A 20% deposit (nonrefundable) is due on booking and the balance plus a €150 refundable damages deposit is to be paid 8 weeks prior to the arrival date. In case of late bookings, the full amount is payable on booking. Rates are negotiable for longer stays. We can accept payment in Euros or Pounds (by cheque or bank transfer).

The preferred changeover day is Saturday. This may be flexible, especially in early or late season. Checkin is not before 2.00pm and checkout is at 10.00am unless otherwise arranged.
